Dr. Yasir Hameed

Dr Yasir Hameed is a Consultant Psychiatrist and the Division Chief of Old Age (Geriatric) Psychiatry at Sakina.

His specialist interests include management of cognitive disorders and mental health problems in adults and older adults and raising public awareness on the importance on mental health and wellbeing.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (United Kingdom) and an Honorary Associate Professor at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia, United Kingdom.

He completed his undergraduate medical training in Baghdad University, Iraq.

He has extensive experience in postgraduate medical education and service development across the UK and UAE.

His work has included research, teaching, and innovative multidisciplinary projects aimed at improving the care of older adults with mental illness and cognitive disorders.

He is also actively involved in public mental health education and advocacy through teaching, publications, and social media platforms for Arabic-speaking audiences.
