GD18934Dr. Hussain Mohamed Attia is a distinguished Professor and Chairman of the Psychiatry Department at Al Azhar University's Faculty of Medicine for Girls. Born on December 26, 1956, in Giza City, Dr. Attia has an extensive background in psychiatry, holding an M.D. in Psychiatry from Al Azhar University (1993), an M.Sc. in Neuropsychiatry (1987), and an M.B.B.Ch. from Ain Shams University (1980).he have more than 42 years experience in management of different mental disorders. Throughout his career, Dr. Attia has held various significant positions, including House Officer at Ain Shams University Hospitals and Resident of Neuropsychiatry at Zagazig University Hospital. He has also served as an Assistant Lecturer and later as a Lecturer of Psychiatry at Al Azhar University. His academic journey progressed as he became an Assistant Professor and then a Professor of Psychiatry at Al Azhar University's Faculty of Medicine for Girls, eventually assuming the role of Chairman of the Psychiatry Department. Dr. Attia is committed to continuing professional development, regularly participating in development courses, international conferences, and audits to ensure the highest standard of patient care. He has served as a consultant psychiatrist in various prestigious institutions, including Al-Bustan Clinic in Saudi Arabia, King Fahd Hospital, Bach Hospital in Jeddah, and Al-Ain Hospital in the UAE. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Attia has supervised numerous master's and doctoral theses in psychiatry, contributing significantly to the academic community. He currently works as a consultant psychiatrist at Oud Al Touba Diagnostic and Screening Centre and Sakina (Al Ain Hospital) since July 2024.
